Here is a website I stumbled across where a group of guys working as extras and stuntmen (the beginning tiers of acting) in Asia went out and made their own successful movie – Bangkok Adrenaline.

Thinking about it what is there in your life that you have always wanted to achieve and have never gotten up and done?

I mean getting out there and making your own successful cinema release movie in a foreign country with an eagerly awaited DVD release must be up there amongst the harder career objectives people might choose to strive for – I mean it’s not like walking into your boss and asking for a $20 pay raise it is a ‘leapfrog’ in career moves.

From bottom rung to Bangkok Adrenaline movie stars and incidentally scriptwriter, director, producer, etc were all required along the way.

What can you do to leapfrog your career farward instead of taking those tiny safe steps?

A 6 year old child was arrested for being disruptive at Kindergarten. The child was arrested for diruptive behaviour and was also charged for assaulting her teacher and resisting arrest. (See scanned document below).

“When there is an outburst of violence,” Police Chief Frank Mercurio told a local news station, “we have a duty to protect and make that school a safe environment for the students, staff and faculty. That’s why, at this point, the person was arrested regardless what the age.”

What sort of thoughtless people were involved in this case? Have the teacher or the police lost their minds or do they belong in a drug treatment center? Lets examine this closer.

The police were called to the school because the teacher could not handle a 6 year old girl. Now I think this reflects badly on the teacher involved for 2 reasons;

She cannot do her job as a Kindergarten teacher. If she cannot cope with 6 year olds having tantrum then she should not be invloved in that field of work. Alternatively she is incompetant and needs further training. Regardless of how bad the tantrum is.

She called the police to deal with a 6 year old. Where is the chain of command. The senior teacher, the school principle, the parents? Why was this escalated to a code red without going through reasonable channels? Maybe it was but I still see the problem being that the school should be able to handle one upset child even if that one particular teacher could not.

Now for the police. I assume that some will say that they are just doing their job and that they have to respond to any calls or complaints made. I would say that the Police have a duty to common sense that prevails above upholding the law in the strictest possible interpretation.

The Police chief’s statement “duty to protect and make that school a safe environment for the students, staff and faculty” is ridiculous. Was a crying 6 year old girl really a threat to the teachers safety? Grow a brain.

Next to hold accountable is the law. I remember the days when I was a kid you would never misbehave with the Police as they would give you a belt about the ears. Now I see that some Police did abuse this, but I also see that many Police are now impotent to do anything to criminals. Now I am not saying that the Police should have given her one to shut her up but I am saying that the Police often feel impotent and end up just following orders as it is the only thing they can do, even if it is ridiculous.

Lastly to do with the law again. Since when is it wrong for a 6 year old girl to try to run away and hide under a desk when strange men come to take here away?

When I was a kid I was taught not to go anywhere with strangers I did not know. So this child is charged with resisting arrest.

Honestly this has to be one of the stupidest stories that I have ever heard, if this was in a movie people would boo and leave the cinema saying it was too unrealistic.

Wake up America – this is too much.

Travel opens up new ideas and new experiences, it helps change the way you think and gives you a broader perspective on life. It makes you a more rounded individual and more ‘worldly’. It also relieves you from insecurities when dealing with foreigners or foreign cultures.

Upon travelling through Asia and Eastern Europe I have come to see that people are the same everywhere, they all act in the same ways regardless of culture and politics.

Growing up in the West I was taught to believe that Russians are bad people. Wrong.

They enjoy being with their friends and family, they enjoy a beer and they even have the same fart jokes – just spoken in a different language.

The days of WW2 propagander have gone yet many people who never travel outside their tiny minds and their tiny towns still cling to these outdated racist beliefs.

World travel gives a a clear view of what people are like, it also lets you look at your own country and culture from the outside. Better yet you get internation media nd you can see what the rest of the world thinks of your people.

What do you think the people of Burma think about thier government, what would you think they felt if they could live in the West for several years.

Dictatorial/Communist governments practise severe censorship for a reason – to control what people think.

Don’t censor yourself by sitting in your small town and believing what you Government tells you – we all know they are in it for themselves with rarely any actually caring about the country as a whole.

Why are all the religious fundamentalists fighting each other?

American Christians believe they are right, Islamic Extremists believe they are right, I believe they are both wrong.

I mean who are they to judge what is right and wrong – I thought that was supposed to be God’s job at the end of the day – and who amde the fundamentalists God?

In all the religious stories I have heard and all the religions I have studied or looked at it was supposed to be God (or the Chief God) who decides who enters Heaven (or whatever name) at the time of Judgement day.

If God made the Earth then it is his creation and his doings. Why do these people get so emotional and start to interfer with God’s work.

Do they really know better than God?

I do not see anywhere in the Bible or the Koran where it says go kill the unbelievers.

As Jesus said “Let him who has not sinned throw the first stone” and everyone else can damn well shut up.

Why do you work 9 to 5? Do you enjoy your job? If not why do you stay at it?

On any monday morning try sitting by the side of the road at 8am and watching all the unhappy faces driving past you. Barely anyone is smiling, no one is laughing. What does that tell you?

So why do all these people and possibly yourself included in this, why do they all continue to get up like slaves and go to the job?

Fear.

Fear of change, fear of failure, fear of what other people would think.

Fearing what other people think, giving up that ‘prestigious’ job and going after what you really want. Who cares what other people think – they should be minding their own business and looking after thier own lives anyway. If they have time to look into yours and judge you then they are small minded petty people. Personally as long as what you do does not affect my life I could not care what you did (as long as it is not evil) as I personally have enough on my plate to think about with my own life.

Fear of failure. What happens if the new business fails, what ahppens if you leave this job only to find you cannot get another, what if… , what if…. , what if….

What if you never try? Then you have failed anyway by giving up before you even start. Life is a gamble, everythign you do is a gamble, evaluate the odds and take the risk. Then go for it 100%

Fear of change. Why do people fear change? Change is constant and necessary, you cannto stop it. To want life to freeze at this single comfortable point in your life is wishful thinking at best. Change can bring unknowns – this is why people are afraid but it is about as useful a tactic as being scared of the dark. Grown ups are not afraid of the dark, it is the same world without the suns radiation bearing down, nothing else changes, monsters do not suddenly spout up.

So are you happy with your 9 to 5 existence?

Why do YOU stay?

Time and again I see people who are breaking up with a former lover and the anger is so thick in the air I can almost taste it. What is happening to these people who only days before were saying I love you to each other? What posesses people to change like this?

Where has the love gone?

Truth be told I do not think there was any true love there in the first place – depending upon your definition of love.

To go from “loving” someone to hating them because they did something you did not like just goes to show your internal anger and flaws – maybe they misjudged their lover but unless they blatently lied to you about everything then it is more likely that you are upset about loosing face value or feel inadequate because of their behaviou and thus thier self image is damaged and they are lashing out.

Is anger really the best course? Who really gets hurt by your anger. Only you. Why do people think that they have to get ‘revenge’ often when they do not have the full facts and more importantly are running on emotions with little thought?

This is something I see often living in Asia, some fat frumpy housewife abusing her husband in public because he was looking at some hot Asian girl walking past.

That is not love it is dependancy and neediness, add this to anger and it makes a very unattractive mix.

Maybe it would be better to just move on and find that person that is right for them rather than continuing to waste time and energy on a relationship that was already destined to failure.

Just my thoughts.

In a thought provoking article by City On A Hill Press there has been an interview with world reknown scientist known for isolating the first cancer gene in 1970 – his name – Peter Duesberg.

Dr. Duesberg goes into some detail as to why the two are not necessarily linked and the mistakes the current medical practise is making. But as he mentions and I would like to highlight there is US$22.8 Billion (US$2.6 billion for research) from America alone slated for ongoing AIDS activities this year – that is a lot of money to give up if you suddenly start to go against current dogma.

In fact Dr. Duesberg had his funding cut for even raising the issues…

Dr. Duesberg is not some fly by night nutter in fact he won the award for 1971 California Scientist of the year, as a biologist he gained tenure at Berkeley, among other awards, he was the recipient of the seven-year National Institute of Health Outstanding Scientific Investigator grant. All on top of his earlly ground breaking cancer research.

Duesberg proposed the hypothesis that recreational drugs, antiviral chemotherapy, and malnutrition are the cause of AIDS. In his proposal he says that AIDS is not infectious, it is highly non-random, and that HIV cannot be found in AIDS patients.

In defense of his argument, he points to the fact that there was no reported case of a doctor or health care worker contracting AIDS, rather than just HIV, from 1981 to 2004.

The fact that AIDS is highly non-random in the U.S. and Europe, unlike every other viral epidemic, suggests that a virus does not cause it.

The article then goes into details on the correlation between HIV and AIDS and the normal viral infestion sequences and causes.

The best one of his best known opponents, Dr. Mary Zavanelli who teaches the UCSC course “Biology of AIDS”, can come up with is:

“The direct correlation of how fast someone gets ill to the amount of HIV is one good piece of evidence in favor of the HIV hypothesis,” Zavanelli said.

Yes but people in car accidents are covered in cuts and scratches – it does not mean that cuts and scratches caused the car accident – her rebuttal is ridiculous.

Anyway you can read the entire article here
